About the University

Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences was established in 1987 and is situated in Apeldoorn. With a focus on 5 key themes, “Management, Internationalisation, Diversity, Sustainability, & Innovation”, Wittenberg is one of the fastest growing independent international University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. With around 600 students from more than 80 different countries studying on its Bachelor and Master programs in two schools, the School of Business and the School of Hospitality & Tourism. In its 10-year plan, presented in 2013, Wittenberg is aiming at growing to a broad university with totally 5 schools. The new schools that are under the development are School of Art & Technology, School of Health & Social Care, and School of Education. Wittenborg is determined to provide cross-discipline & applied-science education to assure its graduates are more suited for the future job market, within an international context.
Ranking & Accreditation
Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences is appointed by the Dutch government and meets all required regulations. All degrees and programmes are internationally recognised and accredited in Europe. Programmes have been developed in consultation with, and have the support of business and industry.

Master of Science Programmes are accredited by the University of Brighton (under QAA, UK).
Bachelor of Business Administration Programmes are accredited by the Netherlands Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA - a German, Austrian, Swiss Accrediting body).
Bachelor of Entreprenerial Business Administration is accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA - a German, Austrian, Swiss Accrediting body).
Master of Business Administration programmes are accredited by the Netherlands Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) and the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA - a German, Austrian, Swiss Accrediting body).

Entrance Criteria:

Bachelor Programmes

International Students: in the Netherlands, Universities are required to consider applications from students who have completed high school to the level that enables them to apply to University in their own country, and the admissions office has overviews of all high school qualifications from different countries that allow entry into the Bachelor programme. The High School diploma must be equivalent to the Dutch qualifications. Our admissions team will carry out the Diploma Verification for you.
  • Applications are not judged on grades that students achieve, as the Dutch philosophy adhere to the fact that students should not be judged on their school marks for university entrance;This is because the university system is different from school and University should be accessible to all students regardless of their high school marks;
  • Once students are at the University they are required to pass regular assessments and exams to enable them to carry on;

Master Programmes

Degree and/or experience:
- Bachelor degree, or an HND equivalent plus at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Students with non-relevant qualifications may be asked to complete a short portfolio prior to starting the course.
- Other applicants with extensive industry experience will be considered on an individual basis.
MBA: A minimum of 3 years professional experience is required for MBA applicants. 
English Language Requirements
For non-native speakers of English:
IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL Equivalent.an overview of the equivalent scores.
IELTS 6.5 overall, 6.0 in writing.

University Location:
The study in the Heart of Holland - Wittenberg University is located in Apeldoorn, where it has two locations - north and south of the railway station - only 3 minutes walk from the train to the classroom, from both the Aventus Building and the Spoorstraat Building!

Employment outcomes
95% of all Wittenborg Graduates find themselves suitable employment or continue with a further degree within 3 months after graduation. Around 50% of Bachelor students continue with Master studies at another University, 50% of graduates start work. Often graduates are employed by their internship companies. This does not only apply to Dutch students; international students can also stay in the Netherlands to work after graduation.
Wittenborg graduates are literally working across the globe: Canada, the USA, the UK, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, to name a few!
Many Wittenborg graduates are working in Dutch companies, both Dutch and internationally orientated, especially in the finance, banking, real estate and marketing sectors. Some entrepreneurial students also have graduated and immediately started their own companies.
