Manchester Metropolitan University
Manchester Metropolitan University (often referred to as MMU, Man Met or Manchester Met) is a new, public university located in Manchester, England. The university evolved from the Manchester Mechanics Institute and the Manchester School of Design and Commerce, becoming Manchester Polytechnic in 1970. It gained university status in 1992 under the Further and Higher Education Act. The university headquarters and central campus are in the city of Manchester, with additional facilities in Cheshire.

Engineering facilities in the School are excellent and you will benefit from state-of-the-art engineering workshops and dedicated computational and physical laboratories, including a dedicated£4m heavy engineering workshop for research and teaching in surface engineering, materials and dynamics and a £3m building housing our specialist facilities for work on bioengineering, exercise science and genetics.
You will be taught in specialist teaching facilities in environmentally sustainable buildings that are amongst the best of any university in the UK. Our spacious lecture theatres and seminar rooms are equipped with the latest teaching and learning facilities.
